This is the end ... and a new beginning ..

Like high school itself, this blog has come to a logical end. Graduation in the field of life has come to me and unfortunately I must end posting to this blog for an indeterminate period of time. I will be working on two continents in some incredibly challenging and exciting work.

It has been a pleasure posting here, and I am glad that some of my snapshots have brought back happy memories for a lot of you.

If you want my FaceBook coordinates, drop me a line at: ochsblogger-at-rocketmail-dot-com and I would be very pleased to add you as a friend.

Goodbye, good luck and I hope we all meet again sometimes.

Ken

PS - In case you are wondering, the empty desk and the notebooks in the picture above used to belong to Cathy Clinton. I liked the way that the light was fading on a December winter day when the sun goes down early, and how the shadows were cast across the frame.

Trio of Pics

It was a bitterly cold day when this picture was taken. Dan O'Neill was the student council president and that is why he had the mike in his hand. Victor Suppan looks on. I don't remember the event, but it was happening on the football field.
From the same series as above, Paul Power was on the scaffolding overlooking the football field as well.

In the background, you can see Sister Conrad Lauber enjoying the humiliation of the kangaroo court victims who's heads are back to the camera.

Gridiron Games

These football pictures are from 1970 - 1972.

Above, the Courtice High School team quarterback rolls out for a pass attempt against our defense, anchored by John Patterson.

Jim Dickey and Tony White do the coaching thing. Joe Novak and John Marinzel are visible as players.

The referees confer on where to mark the ball.

Our kicker Bert Hoefs, gets one aloft.

Picture Dump

Today's entry is just a picture dump and I have to run. I will amend the blog later with comments, but it is a long weekend holiday in the Bahamas, and my boat ride to an offshore island beach is waiting.

I fear that I will have to stop this blog shortly. Another phase of my life has started and I will be stretched over two continents. I am doing the private banking software in the Caribbean, and very shortly I will also be doing the data mining for the performance analysis of a major British sporting team. So I am trying to pump out as many pictures as I can before I have to cease posting here.

Stay tuned.

Cheryl Kelleher sits on the bus.

This is from the fashion show series. I don't know who this is, but the psychedelic fashions are wild!!

This photo of girls' gymnastics is from 1969. Note the dorky gym uniform that the girls had to wear.

Kathy Seaver

I can still vividly remember taking this photo. Kathy Seaver was in the hallway near the gym talking to Elizabeth Deveaux. I was walking with Henry Kowalewski and I snapped this photo. Then Kathy bounced down the hall with her usual spirit. Henry turned to me and said "She reminds me of a bobby soxer from the 1950's". It was her joie-de-vivre.

Weightlifting

I don't have a name for this weightlifter. I think that his first name is Paul. I am sure that someone will come along (eventually) and fill me in via a comment.

When it came to me, the only weightlifting that I did was at the dinner table. I was an adherent of the Miss Piggy diet whose only rule was "Never eat more food than you can lift!".

Update: My Goodness, that didn't take long. A reader left a comment moments ago identifying this person as Paul Corey. Thank you muchly !!

Gary Ranalli - Post Shower

No Gary Ranalli was not starring in Grease. He had just taken a shower after running.
