OCHS stood for Oshawa Catholic High School. It is now known as Paul Dwyer High School. It is still located at 700 Stevenson Road North in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. These images are from my photography archives, and they are intended as a blast from the past. I have just digitized these images from dusty negatives that have not seen the light in a pile of years. In addition, other archive photos have been added from contributions by graduates and teachers of the high school.
Actually, MOONFLEET had returned to the English Curriculum at Dwyer in the mid 1990s. It had remained on the Grade 9 Course of Study for a few years before a new novel was selected.
ReplyDeleteMoonfleet was a tremendous novel that we studied in Grade 9. It was one of the few books that got me addicted to reading, even during other classes. Textbooks were a valued commodity in Grade 9 that year, in 1965, when the new building opened on Stevenson Road North. We often had to share novels as there weren't enough for every student.
