Some more of the crowd at kangaroo court. I can make out Stella Barnett sitting on a chair, and I recognize Sandra Mozic at the extreme right with her back to the camera. Beside her is Mary Ellen Barrett.

Siblings

There were many many sets of siblings attending OCHS, my family included. Pictured above is Kathy Seaver, and below is her older brother Tony Seaver.

In this blurry shot, Tony is at a dance accompanied by Mary Ellen Barrett, and to the right in the foreground (apologies for the poor negative) is Cheryl Kelleher.

Psychiatric Help

This is a shot from a Halloween Dance at OCHS. I do not know the name of this student Mary Ellen Barrett, but I do remember that she was Tony Seaver's date at the dance. Tony came dressed as a butler or something similar. The imitation of Lucy Van Pelt in the Peanuts comic strip was perfect.

Initiation Pics Continued ...

The following series comes from Grade 9 Initiation (or Minor Niners as they were called). As previously iterated, it is politically incorrect to humiliate and torture these days. Back in our day, it was considered a worthy spectacle. But in an earlier day, so was feed Christians to the lions. Ahhh ... I miss the smell of DDT in the morning.


The sign that the person is wearing is "Minor Niners Waddle to School". The only person that I can identify, is Cathy Montgomery in the upper right corner. Update from reader: Girl with glasses is Mary Ellen Barrett.

Above is part of the crowd totally enjoying the humiliation and degradation of the Grade Nine students. Mark Foley is identifiable. The tall dude, I believe is a Kreisz (sp?) and the blonde long-haired individual is Benny Winterink, who has passed away (R.I.P.).

Take a look at the eggs and various filthy substances in the bottom of the pic to smear the Grade Niners. At the extreme top left of the pic, is Italo Labignan.

Tony Seaver Part 1

This is one of the more colourful characters at OCHS -- Tony Seaver. He had an indomitable spirit, and one would suspect, a small touch of Attention Deficit Disorder. He was hilarious, funny, creative and totally spontaneous.

I take back the Attention Deficit Disorder remark -- it wasn't that -- what it really was, was no impulse control. (Just kidding, but wait till you see some other snaps of Tony). I don't know the name of the girl that he is tormenting. The girl that he is tormenting is Mary Ellen Barrett.

It was highly ironic that Tony's dad was the disciplinarian at Courtice High School.
