Geoff was a talented artist (go figure, being a math teacher and all) with a sharp (gentle) wit. Not only was I was lucky enough to have been taught by him in the 70's, I was also a colleague of his in the 90's. He was a wonderful human being that is greatly missed by many. Unfortunately he died of cancer at too young an age.

ReplyDeleteGeoff was my father. He passed away in 1997 due to complications from a stem cell transplant that he had in hopes of curing amyloidosis. He was indeed a wonderful human being. He was kind, loving and very funny. He was the type of person you either wanted to be like, or be around or both. I've heard from many people that he inspired them to become teachers. I followed in his footsteps as well. I still miss him everyday.

he was my grade 5 teacher at St Johns in Whitby and also lived at the end of our street in Brooklin at the time. I'm so sorry to hear about his passing. He'd go out of his way on his own time to help me with subjects I had a hard time with. He is definitely missed.
