Those were the days

I snapped the above pic for a project that I was doing for Urban Studies class. Regional government was a brand new idea that was being proposed, and a bunch of towns, villages and cities were going to be amalgamated into a new region called Durham. Nobody much liked the idea.

The high school was on the cusp of Whitby in Oshawa. Take a look at the population of Whitby. Those were the days. Notice the speed limit sign. That was 40 Miles Per Hour, not kilometers. This was before the enforced metrification of Canada by the Trudeau government.
