OCHS stood for Oshawa Catholic High School. It is now known as Paul Dwyer High School. It is still located at 700 Stevenson Road North in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. These images are from my photography archives, and they are intended as a blast from the past. I have just digitized these images from dusty negatives that have not seen the light in a pile of years. In addition, other archive photos have been added from contributions by graduates and teachers of the high school.
We were studying,"Heart Of Darkness" in Grade 13, way back in'69.I thought I heard Sister Conrad call my name.I blurted out,"Sister I didn't do my homework". "Matthew, I wasn't speaking to you". My response was to throw the novel straight at her(such a brat) Her response was cool and calm,"That man has no restraint". It was one of the main themes of the novel. When I received my final report card it was obvious she gave my English mark a humongous boost.I got into university and never looked back.I owe her big time and paid her kindness forward with all my students for 38 years.
