Aerial View of the School

In our final year of high school, Blair Morris was the Geography and Urban Studies teacher. He arranged an over-flight of the Oshawa area for the Urban Studies class. The class started out at the Oshawa Flying Club, and a series of Cessnas and Pipers flew us around the area.

The above picture was how the school looked like from the north west side looking east.

I haven't been back to look at the school, but the brother tells me that it is greatly expanded, and all of the vacant farmland is now built up.

I will post images regularly as time permits.

  1. a curious event, growing old....people revisit places they seem to remember from days gone by.
i do remember vividly some of the people featured here.
i was the art teacher that year (the year of the yearbook pictured above)
since leaving oshawa catholic high, i have been another art teacher (cochrane, ont.), a journalist, award-winning photographer, special project supervisor with statistics canada, recreation therapist with the frail elderly, a youth/street outreach worker; written and produced a drama work at the fringe in edmonton, exhibited at the works, visual arts festival, edmonton and written a play based on stories of "at risk" youth.
throughout it all i have managed to create my own art as well.
but i too am now retired from "the" workforce, though creating my own art keeps me busy.
my most recent career was that of visual/fine arts model (actually, i am still called upon from time to time)
i live in alberta with my wife and our sixth dog "willow" our two daughters are married and we have five grandchildren.
